The Team

Currently the team of the Deep Dive Society is composed of only one person, and that person is me! My name is Rasti and I am a software engineer living in London. My university background is in history, political science, and economics (I was too indecisive to pick just one). I have worked in the tech industry for the past 5 years, and I am currently working as a software engineer at a cybersecurity startup in London. Favourite book you ask? Anything by Jorge Luis Borges in non-fiction, and Fernand Braudel's magnum opus (aka doorstopper) Civilization and Capitalism. There are couple of reasons why I am taking the plunge with the Deep Dive Society. One, I love learning about the world. Two, I think the state of the public discourse on the most important questions of today is absolutely lacking in quality - it's full of unspoken assumptions, shaky foundations, and issues skipped over. Three, I love meeting new people. I think of Deep Dive Society as a university about important social topics for people who love learning about the world.
